well
in the last chapter of my life, I picked right over happy

so I think for the last part of my life, I’d pick happy over right

being right …. well. picking and choosing your battles

discretion being the better part of valor…

live to fight another day
stiff upper lip and think of England.

but really

living well is the best revenge
the universe will as it wills
after all

Source of Inspiration

It starts with a judgement,
then we look for ways to
prove we’re “right.”

Would you rather be right
than happy?

what’s left when your illusions and delusions are stripped away
is absolute truth

for better or for worse
not really here nor there

but the objectivity of the truth
depends on perspective being squared to truth

so, it comes back to the stories that we tell ourselves, really

and, as someone near and dear to me explained, so you might as well make it a good story.

Source of Inspiration

Am I here or only a
figment of my imagination
in this world of illusion?
What I used to think was real
has faded like morning fog,
burned away with the rising sun.
What is left when all I believed to
be true turns into vapor, sleight
of hand or simply empty wishes?

WOW

Oh, what a joyful poem for me

a couple of years back, a pair of house finches made a nest on my front door.

it was thrilling to watch the transformation from eggs to almost adult birds

Intricate structure
Twig, feather, a piece of string
Tiny eggs of life

I think the slide show works harmoniously with the poem

food is part of the cycle of energy transferance and life

by selecting the foods we consume consciously, we impact the larger environment

from our early ancestor days of selecting the favoured plants from accidental cultivation of sees to actual agriculture

disipline, intention

it’s what we need to solve the problems of there being over 7 billion of us, all needing resources, survival to thrival

within the limitations of our niches

I often ponder what makes the difference between people’s priorities and the scope of their thoughts

sometimes I think it’s a matter of nurture

but I think we should never minimize nature

mutations, spectrum, diversity

the spice of life

Source of Inspiration

Where do thoughts
come from? Our
brain, our soul,
from the great beyond?
Sometimes I wonder why
great minds like Einstein
are able to produce
visionary ideas, great
symphonies, lasting
literature, while the
majority of mortals fill
their mind with inane
every day minutia, or worse,
dark thoughts or sorrows
and regrets.

I examine my popcorn
thoughts throughout
the day and find little of
value. Sometimes I pick a
subject to ponder as I
silently go about a task,
but find my mind soon wanders
to the “he said, she said.”

Yet, I believe we are capable
of excellence–yes, you and I.
I expect that discipline is the
key. This discipline must be
practiced in all aspects of
our lives, each task, commitment,
and series of thoughts carefully
executed with focused awareness.

One step at a time, I discipline
my mind, body, soul. We have the
seeds of greatness within…
