We are the only ones who are in a position to know what we are

we alone decide on lines and crossing them

we alone know what we could but do not do

we alone know what we do and how much more or bigger or better or fairer it could be

we alone know
when we put ourselves first
or someone else
or some others or most or a few others
or all or none

only we can know what interests we serve and what we are willing to protect and project into the world

but unless one leads an examined life
of curiosity and compassion

then you really can’t know yourself, because all you are is trying to emulate other things or people or ideas that tell you what you should be
without any consideration of you as a person, but just because of the groups you might identify with and belong to to some order of magnitude

believing in yourself as the expert of you, is the first step to being the expert and best you that you can be

Am I wonderful or terrible,
or somewhere in between?
How is it that I do not have
a true sense of me? Do I think
of myself as others say I am,
or as society says I must be?
How can I be confused about
who is really me?

relate share

old patterns do not serve your interests for your future, it’s why they are patterns we seek to change or need to become mindful of in order to shift to healthier patterns
of all types of health
physical, mental, emotional, spiritual, community and human connections – family and friends

as a dear friend of mine said, if you’re going to make up stories to tell you about you, at least make them postively affirming ones,

because over time, you do beleive what you tell you about you
and we all need to be our biggest fan

Oops, I forgot to surrender,
and started to fret, obsessing
about something over which I
have no control. Yep, I’ve
been backsliding into old
patterns of worry. That’s
the bad news. The good news
is that now I catch myself
sooner and stop easier. Such
is progress in the life of a
woman who is learning to
live in the moment.

to struggle
is to wrestle with yourself
or to endeavor to overcome an oppositional force
struggle is the breath of life
and as I previously blogged last year some time on Nina’s Garden…

when an immovable object meets and irresitiable force

it’s the force that will win, for force has time on it’s side and eventually, it will either deflect around the object and continue, or it will find the resonant vibration and shatter the immovable object

we know from water plants that rigidity is not conducive to thriving and change is inevitable and the very stuff of life

being irresistible is the take away to overcoming all struggles

Struggle is not weakness,
but rather a soul striving.
Do not underestimate me for
I will endure long after
that which challenges me
and makes me stronger.

it is the moments that matter
and how you intend to spend them
but more what you make of them

Am I fully alive, or a
mere shadow passing through
life, soon gone to who knows
where? What does it mean to
be fully alive, or even not to be?

Hours are racing past, years
are fleeing, too. I do not
want to die having never known
the ecstasy of being so aware
of each moment that life sparkles
like sunbeams on water, each
momenta jewel of delight.
