hmmm
I never thought about the green light spectrumbecause it’s infra red and ultra violet that begins and ends the rainbow that the human eyes and brain can perceive
must spend more time in the middle
than burning at either end
Remove the color green, how
empty the world would seem.
Take away music, with it would
go joy, empty the sky of stars
and moon, how loudly we would
complain. Yet think about how
long we go without stopping to
notice the beauty that surrounds
us day and night.
We fill our lives too full, then
complain that we don’t have time,
yet, we create the lives we have,
one choice at a time.
Choose wisely, my friend,
watch more sunsets.

most traditions are worth respecting
like our elders and olders
because once
they were the young turksno humans are disposable
everyone contributes
according to their ability
often contrary to the roles we
assign or dismiss them towisdom comes with age
passion for life need not fadeit’s participation with life
in life with the living
that keeps us vital and engagedrespect life at all stages
and all forms of lifehumans are just one kind of animal
we forget that
even while we are often the most beastly kind
There is an elder in our community who
is a beacon for the young. Her cookie
jar is always full, her heart open, her
council wise. Laughter is her balm.
Her path well trodden for she welcomes all.
She is a model of the woman I wish to become.

True Story
fresh starts
rebuilding or relocating
out with what does not serve you
out with what harms youfire is the purifier of all
nature’s renewal of the land
lightening strikesenlightenment is attainable
meditative effort
spontaneous brain combustionit’s all good
because as Nancy sangI just got me a brand new box of matches
How often disasters turn out
to be blessings. Sometimes they
push us to change what fear has
prevented. Remember that rather
than remodeling an old house,
it is often less costly to
remove it and start fresh.
The key to going through
these difficult times is
to step outside the
“drama” and trust that
our Creator has a plan
that will be much better
than before. Amen to that!
