Blow your biggest fear up, up, up
until it bursts like a over-filled
balloon, releasing the hot air of
“What ifs.” Use fear as a well for
the energy of action, then transform
it into belief that you can succeed.
Bet you didn’t know you were an alchemist,
did you?

While cleaning, I knocked over
a favorite lamp, cracking it
in several places. Upset at first,
I finally calmed enough to see the
beautiful patterns of light that
filtered through the cracks,
filling the room with swirls of gold.
I realized then how often life seems
to break us until we see that through
the cracks shines our light from within.

I hear people say, “I don’t know
what my mission in life is.” We
look at people like Mother Teresa
and Gandhi and feel that somehow we
don’t measure up and never could.
How does one discover a mission?
First, what is a mission? Saving
the world? Being a great healer,
spiritual leader, guru, etc.?
Perhaps our mission is much
simpler. The first thing we might
want to know is, “Who am I and
why do I exist?” “Ugh! that is
even harder,” you cry.

make it child simple. I am here
because I am. Life is not about
fulfilling a mission. Life is
about living your life in such
a way that when it is time to
leave, you feel you’ve used your time
well, enjoyed your life, helped some

Sometimes the best solution
is to do nothing. Wait. Life
cycles, constantly changing.
The future can hold the perfect
solution. When we wait, in
peaceful expectation, the
Universe brings into our lives,
solutions we would have
never imagined. Be open to this
and you will experience miracle
after miracle.

I live in a messy world,
full of tangles and what ifs.
We march for freedom without
defining what freedom is. Is
freedom being able to do what
I want when I want? What if
my “freedom” infringes on
someone else? Should not
our freedom consider the
needs and values of of
others as well?
I want to be free and
because I want this for
others as well, I am
committed to the golden
rule of “loving my neighbors
as myself.” Are you?
